Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî (/eˈnɪg̃e/ /ˈp˔ɘhè/ [fast; smart; intelligent; quick; swift] [glory; honor]) is a temperate Small Town located in the Betebê Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî was founded by Gelèb Trënmèj, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî receives an average of 231 cm/y (90 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî covers an area of nearly 3 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 4224 m (13858 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1170, by Gelèb Trënmèj. The establishment of Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Gelèb Trënmèj electing to pay people to resettle in Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî is is constructed arround a semi-circular broad cobblestone mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The brittle defences has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.
Civic Infrastructure
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.
Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is short in Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî.
Enîg̈e-píêhè Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves line dance to channel Transmutation energies of tier 3 via singing.
Economy
